Is this you?

Does this sound familiar?

Anxiety shows up in many different ways. Some of the questions I ask new clients:

  • Social anxiety

Do you feel uncomfortable in social situations and avoid them?

  • Phobia

Do you avoid certain activities because of intense fear of what’s associated with that activity?

  • GAD

Are you easily startled? Do you have circular thoughts, stay busy in your mind with ‘what if’ thoughts? Worry a lot?

  • PTSD

Do you have repeating nightmares, intrusive thoughts, or difficulty with concentration that affects your daily ability to function?

  • Panic

Do you feel anxious/nervous or experience panic attacks? Does a small amount of stress overwhelm you?

  • OCD

Do you try and deal with it in unhealthy ways?

You don’t have to go through this alone.

Understanding anxiety and fear

Anxiety and fear are normal responses to a perceived threat. They can trigger unpleasant symptoms such as emotional distress, a sense of helplessness, confusion, worry, repeated negative thoughts, and fear of losing control. Physical symptoms can include muscle tension, shortness of breath, dizziness, nausea and heart palpitations.

How I help

In over 30 years of treating anxiety and trauma, it has become clear that many anxieties can be lessened even after the first session. I enjoy teaching my clients self-help tools that they can utilize to lessen their symptoms until they get their anxiety more in control.

I also like to show my clients how one’s lifestyle, whether past or present, can impact these symptoms. Anxiety treatment can include assisting clients in relieving some of these symptoms in just the first session or two.

Why it helps to start early

The longer these anxiety symptoms are left untreated, the greater the likelihood that a more progressive anxiety disorder will develop. These include panic attacks, disorders and phobias, social anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder or even post-traumatic stress (PTSD).

When to reach out

Most individuals will experience some anxiety from time to time. However, when anxiety, fear or trauma start to interfere with your health, job, relationships or other life areas, I can help.

As an established anxiety therapist in Fort Lauderdale, I utilize many scientific based techniques to help you overcome the anxiety by removing its root cause.
